About Our Company
For The Record is a single song A&R company founded by husband and wife duo, Aaron and Victoria Goodvin.
Aaron is a successful singer/songwriter/touring artist. His hit song “Lonely Drum” completely changed the face of his career and became huge in the line dancing community. Victoria took more of behind the scenes approach opting to dive into the business side. Primarily worked in Music Publishing, but also in artist management and development, touring, and more. Between the two of them, there isn’t many parts of the music industry they haven’t touched.
For years, Aaron and Victoria have been working with independent artists and songwriters in various capacities. They’ve been wanting to join forces for some time, and the opportunity finally presented itself in 2023.
“We launched For the Record, because we saw an opportunity for us to work together and a model that would work for so many artists that we come into contact with. We believe we can move the needle for these artists, utilize our relationships and combined knowledge and experience in the music industry to leave them better than they were to begin with.”
The purpose of for the record is to help independent artists find their next single. We do that by getting to know the artist’s story, their influences, unique abilities, and their goals. We meet them where they’re at, we help them connect with either new writers to help bring their own stories or ideas to life, or we find them great songs written by other amazing songwriters, that they connect with and can put their own spin on. After finding the song, we help connect them with a producer that best fits the style and direction of that song.
By the end of your time with For The Record, you’re left with a single song product that you own and can promote on social media, streaming, etc. While that’s technically where our work at For the record ends, we have many partners that we can connect you with to help take the next steps and get your song released and heard.
